RIGHT SIDE UP IN AN UPSIDE-DOWN WORLD

“Tolerance, compromise, understanding, acceptance, patience. I want those all to be very sharp tools in my shed.” …CeeLo Green

It goes without saying that we want to be on the winning side of events in our lives. The right side is always presumed to be the correct and appropriate side of a discussion, negotiation or relationship issue. So, what constitutes “right?”   The opposite is always a counter “left.” So, we have a battle between opposites. Taking either position places us in conflict.

There are laws of what constitutes right from wrong in society. You break a law; you pay the consequences. But in personal relationships, political ideologies, sales negotiations and competitive situations, sometimes we must be “right side up” in the middle to make any progress. What makes for an “upside down world” is lack of consensus for the benefit of all.   Its true in business, politics and life. Extremes create conflict. With give and take, we reach a reasonable decision in which we all win a little, rather than have a winner and a looser. The only exception being sports, running for political office and armed conflict!

When conflict arises, seek the best solution for all concerned. Evaluate the facts and all options, always seek truth and then collectively choose the best course of action. Without that approach, there is no forward movement- and we do not make any progress. We have chaos.

Are you right side up in the middle of an upside-down world? Let’s face it, the worlds a mess. So what are you going to do?

Something to think about~
