TIME FOR CHANGE

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” … Barack Obama

As the seasons change, so do our lives. We remember the destructive fires of the summer months. With the approaching Fall, we realize that our days become shorter and the temperature gradually begins to fall. Weather patterns present challenges and unfortunately for some, destruction from hurricanes, tornadoes and rising water prevail. It appears it is never ending, and yet, we know that after a time, all these life experiences caused by weather patterns will again change to snow and ice. And then the sun will rise and a new day clear of conflict and destruction will emerge!

Seasons change, weather changes and so do we!

We all go through various seasons in our lives. Good and bad. Change provides opportunity. We have seen examples of how, out of tragedy, comes the best of who we are. Suddenly, race, religion, political affiliation or social standing does not matter. We all rise to help each other. So, in the worst of times, the best of us surfaces to meet the challenges before us. My hope is that we never forget those times when we “come together” for the common good. It should not take a tragedy, economic downturn, or a national or global conflict to trigger the best in us!

The best change we can make, despite our differences, is to always work together for the common good of all!
