“Every person has a legacy. You may not know what your impact is, and it may not be something that you can write on your tombstone, but every person has an impact on this world.” … Dara Horn
I am reminded today of why I wrote my book “Living Your Legacy Now!”.
The legacy of Senator John McCain, a man of integrity, honor, duty, service and sacrifice is a testimony to a life well lived. He was not a perfect man, yet in his points of weakness he demonstrated strong resilience and the will to live. As a POW he demonstrated strength and resolve that many of us will never encounter or truly understand. Yet he prevailed. Even with his adversaries, he was forthcoming and truthful in his assessment of a given situation or political point of view. His humor and spirit will forever be remembered.
As a husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, he exemplified a special strength of character. His Faith continually sustained him. He defended his points of view and when in error, he expressed regret and offered an apology. That is character in the highest order. His life is one that we can all reflect on during this time in our history.
We all have a legacy! I hope we will all live our lives to the fullest, giving space to our differences, always aware that we can make a positive difference in his world.
