TIME OUT!

“Loneliness is, like, when you wish someone else was there, and solitude is when you enjoy being alone. I don’t always wanna be alone, but I definitely like pockets of solitude to recharge and come back to myself. I think that’s so important for everyone.” … Jonathan Van Ness

“I am feeling all alone this afternoon for some reason. My disposition is solemn, and my mind is scattered. I feel as though I am losing control and I don’t know how to feel. You see, I am lost in the moment. Giving as I do, nothing seems to come in return. I am tired of being the peacemaker, consoler, the one who “understands”. Yes, I just feel empty and hurt and I want to cry. This is not a good place to be for me. I do all I can to make the best of life and situations for others. I forgive and move on, but others just bring the past back and I find myself in a corner, all alone. Not a good place to be. I am ready to retreat. I am numb to the idea of moving on. Yes, I am stuck. The world around me is full of lies, mistrust, and passionate disregard for human dignity. No one talks, no one listens, no one thinks, no one plans. Life is just as it is—existing! Meaning and purpose is abated, and contemplative moments bring a deeper hope for peace. I long for peace. I long for peace and tranquility. I am empty, I am alone.”

Ever have days or moments as described above? We all do to some degree in our lives. Some more severe than others, in which case seek professional help from a licensed therapist or Psychologist. However, we are all prone to “down” emotional moments in our lives. The key is when we “give permission” to ourselves to feel this way. That’s when we need to “pause and reflect” on the positive attributes we possess and not the external events that take root in us emotionally. We feel defeated. When you feel this way, you feel alone! But you are not.

Decide today to give yourself some “space for solitude” in your life. We cannot always be the peacemaker. Seek peace within yourself. Appreciate the life you have and look to express gratitude to yourself and others. The world will continue to be a place for good and evil, discord and confusion will be ongoing, but you can rise above it all. Seek though prayer and meditation to connect beyond yourself and acknowledge that you are a person of value. You have values! You have personal dignity! You are all you have! So, love yourself extremely well and face each day with optimism!

So, what are you going to do?    !
