WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME?

“Sometimes success means having the right idea in the right place at the right time. Other times, it’s about not being afraid to quit and move onto something new.” … John Rampton

If we are focused, we usually set goals and develop plans to achieve our goals. However, time is sometimes not always on our side of reality. The best laid plans for success are sometimes delayed, and sometimes never come our way. There is not an easy answer here.

When is a good time to change jobs, get married, buy a house, have children, obtain additional education, leave a relationship, make a significant spiritual decision, etc.? I could go on with more questions. You can add your own! Unfortunately, bad outcomes at times are the result of bad decisions, making unhealthy choices and denying our true passions and God given talents we possess.

The best course of action is to continue to plan your life, evaluate all your choices and choose the best direction at a moment and time and then act on it! From that point on, you have done all you can to achieve your desired result. For many, the timing is just right – for some unknown reason –you find yourself at the right time and place for the opportunity. It just happens. At other times, the outcome is not as desired, and you evaluate the results and change. You adjust and move on!

There is a time for “everything” as so well put in the Biblical passage in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”

The best course of action in all your decision making is to be at Peace with yourself and confident that you have done all you can in the process. That’s where your Faith and spiritual life take hold!  We do not have control of many life events-, so we adjust. There will be moments of fear, joy, sadness and disappointment, nevertheless, press on and continue your life journey knowing that He is ultimately in control!
