EXHAUSTED

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself… Rudyard Kipling

I am feeling exhausted.  How about you?  Enough of the tweets, grandstanding, division, hate and lack of consideration for mankind!  What has happened to our culture?  What do you and I stand for?  What do you tell your children and grandchildren?  What are your core values?  Seems that everyone defines their values based on the opinions of others, social media or cable news personalities, assumptions, projections not based on fact, lack of respect for diversity and rule of law, biased religious leaders, and lack of trust in the tireless work of professionals that work in the medical profession and finally basing their lives on their own self interests and not that of the community and the common good.

What are we to do?

The only control we have amid such negative and degrading situations we face from time to time is our  own life and how we receive and respond to information and life experiences. Therein lies a change in mindset!  We cannot always change what we are not a part of or that which is an external sphere of influence.  Changing ourselves translates into changing others.  When we change, others take notice of our behavior.  What they see in you may well be what they desire as well…

We desire [1] Connection, [2] Happiness], [3]Love, [4] Peace,  and [5] Contentment.  When others see these attributes in you, they are encouraged to change as well.  A change for the better, despite the negativity energy that is so pervasive currently!

Decide today to:

  • Connect and build meaningful relationships
  • Be happy. Dwell on the positive attributes of your life. Express gratitude constantly and smile
  • Love yourself, love others for who they are. Accept diverse opinions and cultural differences
  • Live at Peace with yourself. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation
  • Be content, satisfied with who you are and strive for excellence in all you do. See the best in yourself and others!

Regardless of circumstances – You can be the Best You!
